We are in a regional war

Yossi Schwartz ISL (RCIT in Israel/Occupied Palestine), 21.09.2024

At the end of 2021, we predicted a regional war in an article entitled “We Can Hear the Drums of a New War in the Middle East!” At that time we wrote:

Today, we were informed that Israel is carrying out a major drill as it expects that in the coming war against Hezbollah, the Lebanese organization will fire 2,000 rockets a day, causing internal strife. The drill is simulating a large-scale war in which civilians are evacuated from the northern border. Israel expects that the Israelis will hide inside bomb shelters for an extended length of time. According to a 2020 Zionist State Comptroller report, millions of Israelis do not have basic protection means near their homes. The drill will also deal with the ability of hospitals to handle a large number of wounded soldiers needing urgent care, as well as the moving of patients to hospitals in the country’s center” [i]

What has been until this week, an exchange of fires between Israel and Hezbollah, is now a total war.

Hezbollah confirmed this morning (Saturday) that the Zionist army killed in a targeted attack 16 commanders of the Radwan force, including the head of the organization’s operations, Ibrahim Akil, and another senior commander, Ahmed Mahmoud Wahhabi. During the assassination, two buildings were destroyed in the neighborhood of Ha-Dahiah in southern Lebanon. According to reports in the Arab networks, the elimination led to great destruction, the death of civilians, and serious economic effects. The two buildings, consisting of 40 apartments, collapsed completely, in addition to several shops. The road to the mosque, after which the street is named, became a disaster area.

Ali Karaki, commander of Hezbollah’s Southern Command, was chosen with Talal Hamia, the unit commander who carries out foreign operations and attacks in the military arm, to lead Hezbollah’s operations in the next phase. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei condemned the Israeli attack that took place yesterday in the Dahaiah district of Beirut, saying that Israel openly commits crimes in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and Syria. Khamenei also added that Israel does not confront the fighters but targets the general public of citizens. And called for an inner strength among Muslims to eliminate the malignant cancerous tumor.

“At least 150 rockets were fired on Friday from Lebanon at military sites and settlements in northern Israel within one hour, according to the Israeli Army Radio.

It reported that “about 130 rockets were fired at Galilee and the Golan Heights in two separate waves.”

The Army Radio later added that approximately 20 more rockets were launched toward the Meron area in the north, with most landing in open areas.

This marked a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between the Lebanese group Hezbollah and Israel, with intense cross-border exchanges seen throughout the region.

In response, Israeli artillery began shelling multiple areas in southern Lebanon, Israeli Broadcasting Authority said.

Further, an illegal Israeli settler was injured in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights while fires erupted near the city of Safed due to rocket strikes from Lebanon, according to local media reports.

Channel 12 said the rocket fire caused fires in areas near Safed in northern Israel, while an Israeli settler was injured after his vehicle was hit by shrapnel from a rocket in the Golan Heights.

Minutes earlier, the channel reported that sirens had sounded in the Golan Heights.

For its part, Hezbollah said it launched Katyusha rockets at the Al-Aliqa barracks, which houses the headquarters of Israel’s 188th Armored Brigade, as well as at air defense bases in the Biriya and Kila barracks in northern Israel.

The Israeli army instructed residents of multiple settlements in the Upper Galilee and the Golan Heights to remain near protected areas.

Earlier, the Israeli Army Radio confirmed that the Israeli Air Force launched a fresh wave of airstrikes and artillery bombardments on several locations in southern Lebanon.

Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have intensified in recent days following a wave of explosions Wednesday that affected ICOM wireless devices across Lebanon, resulting in 25 deaths and 450 injuries.

The explosions followed similar blasts Tuesday that struck pager devices, leading to 12 deaths, including two children, and injuring 2,800 others, with 300 in critical condition.

The Lebanese government and Hezbollah held Israel responsible for the device explosions and threatened it with “severe consequences.”

There has been no Israeli comment on the blasts, which came amid an escalation in cross-border warfare between Israel and Hezbollah since the start of Israel’s deadly war on the Gaza Strip, which has killed nearly 41,300 people, mostly women and children, following a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7 last year.”[ii]

Defend Lebanon against the Zionist monster!

Israel must be defeated!
