Zionist soldiers have entered Lebanon after the monster’s army announced a “limited” ground operation against Hezbollah. They attacked villages near the border. Zionist air force and artillery units were supporting the ground troops.
The Zionist state has sent its elite paratrooper division, the 98th, which fought in Gaza and is battle-hardened but exhausted after a year of war. It also has sent the 7th Armored Brigade, which is the elite of its armored units, and it will be backed up by dozens of tanks, air force, and artillery as well.
Thus, they are a very powerful force, but they have to fight the Radwan force, which is very familiar with the mountainous terrain, rocky terrain ideal for ambushes and sniper attacks. We saw it in 2006, and we will see it again.
US Secretary of War Lloyd Austin talked to Yoav Gallant, the Israeli war minister, saying that “we [the US] support Israel’s objective of dismantling Hezbollah’s infrastructure along the border.”[i]
Only a day before Biden, the hypocrite, announced that he opposed Israel entering Lebanon. The US imperialists are saying they oppose a regional war, but if Israel attacks Iran, the USA will enter the war to support Israel. This will lead to all regional war, and Iran is likely to be backed by Russia sending weapons.
This is the time to turn the invasion of Lebanon into the Gallipoli of the Zionist state. But for this to happen, Hezbollah needs the support of Iran.
Austin also warned Iran “of the consequences should it choose to fight with Washington’s key ally. “I reiterated the serious consequences for Iran in the event Iran chooses to launch a direct military attack against Israel,” he said. Austin also said the US military is “well-postured” to defend “US personnel, partners, and allies” in the region in the “face of threats from Iran and Iran-backed terrorist organizations.”[ii]
Beirut-based political commentator Jamal Ghosn says that: “They’re trying to say ‘we’re more powerful than you, we’re rabid dogs and nobody can control us. The US can’t stop us, Europe can’t stop us. We are going to go all the way with this’.”
“Israel is repeating the scenario from Gaza in Lebanon with indiscriminate attacks that are killing civilians, said Ghosn. “It’s a crime of war. In Gaza it’s a genocide, according to international law, and why should we not expect the same thing here.” [iii]
