Hamas released three more Israeli prisoners of war Eli Sharabi, 52, Or Levy, 34, and Ohad Ben Ami, 56 The three being released appeared gaunt and frail following their 16-month ordeal. Their conditions reflect the conditions of the Gazans, suffering, among other things, from starvation caused by Israel.
“Despite the ceasefire, Israeli forces still in the south of the Gaza Strip killed two Palestinians in Rafah on Wednesday.
A child was shot in the chest by an Israeli sniper in central Rafah, hours after occupation forces opened fire at civilians in eastern Khan Younis, killing a man.
As people continue to return to their homes in the north and the south, the local government and human rights groups say that Israel is not fulfilling its obligations under the ceasefire agreement regarding the entry of necessary humanitarian relief and shelter aid.
Access to safe water, especially in the north, is still a daily struggle, and Palestinians are still unable to procure adequate temporary shelters and materials to protect themselves from the winter cold.
The Gaza government media office stated on 3 February that, according to the ceasefire protocol, 60,000 caravans and 200,000 tents should be brought into the Gaza Strip to accommodate displaced people. Six hundred trucks containing aid and fuel are also supposed to enter each day, the media office said, in addition to medical and health services and equipment “necessary to rehabilitate humanitarian services in the Gaza Strip. However, Israel is obstructing the aid deliveries, “which exacerbates the humanitarian crisis and doubles the suffering of the civilian population in the Gaza Strip,” the media office warned.”[i]
“The disturbing images from the release of Ohad, Eli, and or serve as yet another stark and painful evidence that leaves no room for doubt – there is no time to waste for the hostages! We must get them all out, down to the very last hostage. Now!” said the Hostages and Missing Families Forum in a statement”[ii].
“The 183 male Palestinian prisoners set to be released on the same day by Israel include senior Hamas figures between the ages of 20 and 61. Seven will be transferred to Egypt ahead of further deportation.”[iii]
Palestinian prisoners in Israel have been suffering from humiliation, including sexual abuse, and at least six died.
The war criminal Netanyahu’s office said: “In light of the dire condition of the three hostages and the repeated violations by the Hamas terrorist organization, Prime Minister Netanyahu has instructed not to overlook this and to take appropriate action,” the PMO stated.[iv]
“Overnight, the Israeli military is reported to have carried out raids across the West Bank on the family homes of Palestinians set for release. The Palestinian Information Center said that houses in the village of Deir Ninham, northwest of Ramallah, were among the targets while “dozens” of people in the city of Qalqilya were arrested” [v]
The families of Israeli families will do better if they understand that the real enemy is the Zionist state and its military function for the imperialist order of murder and robbery. However, 80% of the Israeli Jews support the ethnic cleansing plan of Trump and only 3% of the Israeli Jews think that Trump’s plan is immoral!
There are left wing groups living in a fantasy that if they promise the Jewish workers the right of self-determination either in a separate state or in a national state, it will be possible today to reach Jewish workers who support the ethnic cleansing of the Gazans. In the real world, it will be possible to reach Jewish workers(who are part of the worker’s aristocracy) if Israel suffers a total defeat and/or at the time of the victorious Arab revolution.
