According to Israel Today an Egyptian source involved in the mediation between Israel and Hamas told Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed on Tuesday morning that an Israeli delegation had arrived in Cairo on the orders of the government to supposedly seek a solution to the delayed negotiations. According to the source, the delegation arrived yesterday evening and met today with the Egyptian mediation team from the General Intelligence apparatus. The meeting discussed Hamas’s latest proposal raised in a speech by the head of the delegation, Khalil al-Haya, regarding the readiness for a comprehensive deal that would end the war in Gaza.
According to the source, the Israeli delegation was interested in specific names of Israeli war prisoners. The source believes that the delegation’s visit to Cairo was made under American pressure regarding the abductees who are American citizens or whose family members are Americans.
Last night, a senior Palestinian official involved in cease-fire talks between Israel and Hamas told the BBC that mediators from Egypt and Qatar had proposed a new plan to end the war in Gaza. According to the report, the proposal includes a long-term ceasefire that will last between five and seven years, the release of all Israeli hostages in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails, an official end to the war and a full Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.

It is not a secret that Netanyahu wants to continue the war as he does not want to sit in prison for his vast corruption and the intention of his government to occupy a large part of Gaza and settle it with Zionist settlers. However, former PM Sharon the butcher who was smarter than Netanyahu retreated from Gaza in 2005 because it cost the lives of too many Israeli soldiers and settlers killed by the resistance. At the same time today the Zionist army is much weaker.

But particularly after the government decided to collapse the ceasefire last month, cracks have started to appear.
In recent weeks, the media has reported a significant decline in soldiers showing up to reserve duty. Although the exact numbers are a closely guarded secret, the army informed Defense Minister Israel Katz in mid-March that the attendance rate stood at 80 percent, compared to around 120 percent immediately after October” [i]
