Trump said that the United States would attack Iran with all its might over this weekend, but he said so without attacking because of the weakness of the U.S. military, which lacks interceptor missiles.
Iran, on the other hand, announced that it had prepared a plan to damage infrastructure in the area and that the Tamar and Leviathan gas reserves were included in the list of targets, without specifying a date for the attack. Tonight, U.S. sources told CBS News that it is possible that attacks in Iran will begin in the next 24 hours. Iran’s Fars news agency later published a list of targets at risk of attack, including the Tamar and Leviathan gas reserves and American oil and gas facilities in the Middle East.
U.S. officials who spoke to CBS said that Trump did not give the final orders for the strikes. According to them, Israel has been notified on the matter and is acting in coordination with the United States. However, an Israeli source told the news website that “Israel is not aware of the decision to resume military operations in full, nor has it been asked to join military operations against Iran.”
The Iranian official, quoted by Tasnim, said that Iran sees the reports as evidence of “American recklessness.”
On Tuesday, Iran’s military announced that it had launched suicide drones at the U.S. military’s Ahmad al-Jaber air base in Kuwait and at U.S. bases in Bahrain, Iran’s Fars news agency reported. The attack was carried out in response to the actions of the US military and the damage to a residence on the island of Keshm. The statement claimed that the targets hit at the base included aircraft garages, satellite communication systems and equipment depots. Iran also said that the attacks make interception difficult and expensive for the United States, and that the Americans censor the extent of the damage and casualties. In Fars, it was also reported that the Revolutionary Guards prevented two tankers from passing through the Strait of Hormuz, and that four others had changed their course.
Trump’s conduct is nothing but a farce, since in fact he says: “Hold me, hold me, otherwise I will go wild and attack Iran”. It is also clear that Netanyahu’s visit to the US was also a humiliating farce and his expectation that Trump will visit Israel close to the election is a pie in the sky.
