Jacky Khoury writes today in Haaretz:
“Mu’taz al-Atrash, a 21-year-old Palestinian who has been held in administrative detention since October 5, 2025, has died in Ofer Prison, the Palestinian Authority’s Prisoners’ Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club announced on Wednesday. Al-Atrash’s family and lawyers said he did not suffer from health problems prior to his arrest. The organizations blamed the Israeli authorities for his death, saying that since the beginning of the war in Gaza, 92 Palestinian prisoners and detainees have died in custody. According to the organizations, the actual death toll is higher, but the lack of information on dozens of detainees makes it difficult to collect data. The Israel Prison Service (IPS) has not yet responded”.
The murder of Mu’taz al-Atrash comes as no surprise to those who follow the treatment of Palestinians imprisoned in the monstrous Zionist state. The murder of Palestinians characterizes Israel even before it was born. It is the Zionists who brought with them acts of terror and pogroms.
“During the uprising of the Palestinian people in 1936-9, the Zionist terror militias, together with a British lieutenant named Audrey Wingate, established terrorist companies that attacked Palestinian villages. Known in Israel as “the friend,” Wingate arrived in then-British Mandatory Palestine in 1936 after spending a decade in the military, mostly in Sudan. He was assigned as an intelligence officer tasked with quelling Arab resistance”
As an ardent Christian Zionist, Wingate quickly formed close ties with Zionist political and terrorist leaders of the Haganah believing that the formation of a Jewish state in British Palestine was of both religious and security necessity for the empire.
In 1938, Wingate formed the Special Night Squads (SNS), a joint British-Jewish militia force modeled in part on the British Nepali Gurkha units, tasked with cracking down on Arab insurgency
Thus, in the 1930s, long before Palestinian resistance groups like Hamas picked up arms against the Israeli occupation, a plethora of Zionist militias were bombing and shooting dead Palestinian Arabs.
“The Zionist groups including Haganah, Irgun, and the Stern Gang (Lehi) actively used terrorism over Palestine to create fear among the Arab citizens.”
The Zionist monster using weapons provided by Stalin committed the Nakba. The Zionist terror played a significant role that facilitated the founding of the Zionist state with Jewish majority. In 1947, 1.200,000 Palestinians and 650,000 Jews lived in Palestine. At the end of the war 170000 Palestinians remained in Israel.
One of the Zionist lies is that the Zionist leaders agreed to the Partition. Ben Gurion already in 1937 wrote to his son:
“A partial Jewish state is not the end but the beginning […] Because the acquisition is important not only for itself – [but] through it we increase our power, and any reinforcement of power helps to acquire the entire land. The establishment of a state – even partial – is the maximum reinforcement of power during this period. And it will serve as a powerful lever in our efforts to redeem the land in its entirety”. [i]
“In the months before the 1948 Arab Israeli War, Golda Meir held a series of clandestine meetings with King Abdullah I of Jordan. They met in secret at the king’s winter palace near the Jordan River, with Meir disguised as an Arab woman. Abdullah offered a deal: Jordan would not attack if the Zionist state accepted his rule over Palestine. Meir refused, insisting on full sovereignty of the entire Palestine. These talks shaped the war’s outcome — Jordan did attack, but with limited aims”[ii].
“Zionist terrorism was at the core of the idea of Israel. “Jewish terrorism against British and Arabs did contribute heavily to the removal of the British from Palestine, the abandonment of the League of Nations mandate and the creation of a Jewish state of Israel,” John Lois Peeke, an American military expert wrote in his book Jewish-Zionist Terrorism and the Establishment of Israel.
In October 1945, Zionist terrorist groups simultaneously targeted colonial railways and oil refineries in Palestine. That marked the beginning of a two-year period of Jewish insurgency against both the British and Palestinians.
“In July 1946, Irgun blew up the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, where the British administration headquarters were located, killing 92 people.
From underground activities of the1940s, “Jewish terrorism changed to military operations, and the terrorist organization became the Zionist army” wrote Peeke.
Zionist ‘ethnic cleansing’
On April 9, 1948, Irgun and Lehi militants jointly committed the Deir Yassin massacre of at least 107 Palestinian villagers, including women and children.
The brutality of Irgun’s terrorism against ordinary Palestinians in Deir Yassin was aimed at shocking and scaring Palestinian Arabs. It was meant to force the Palestinians to leave their native lands”
This Massacre was only one of 30- 40 massacres according to Benni Moris, a Zionist historian. [iii]
“Unlike official accounts, more than 250 Palestinians were killed by Zionist terrorist groups in the April 1948 attack, whose Zionist perpetrators riddled many corpses with batons as they disemboweled about thirty pregnant women”.
The Deir Yassin massacre was a pivotal event of the Zionist ethnic cleansing campaign against Palestinians, who have continued to suffer from its consequences since then. Other Zionist massacres in Palestinian towns like Saliha and Lydda followed the Deir Yassin, triggering a mass Palestinian exodus.”
Fearing massacres like that of Deir Yassin, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, who were abandoned to their fate, decided to leave their country to find safety.
Under the pressure of Zionist terrorist attacks, Palestinian were forced to leave their native lands in large numbers in 1948. It is called the Nakba – the catastrophe.
When Palestinians escaped they also hoped that they would be able to return to their home soon banking on the Arab states to regain their territories. But that didn’t happen. Palestinians who tried to return from Jordan were killed by the Zionist army.
“Jewish colonialists from Europe and elsewhere were resettled in Palestine by the Jewish Agency with the help of Zionist armed groups.
This replacement of the Palestinian population has continued till this day as Israel continues to build settlements on occupied territories in the West Bank.
The Zionist terror continued after the occupation of the West-Bank. The most famous terrorist acts were committed by the “Jewish underground” The Jewish Underground carried out a series of violent crimes against Palestinians in the early ’80s, including booby-trapping cars of West Bank mayors with explosives and shooting students on a college campus. But their plans for even more destructive crimes – bombing packed buses in east Jerusalem and blowing up the Dome of the Rock– were stopped when they were caught in the nick of time.”
Twenty-five men, members of the Gush Emunim movement, were arrested.
Fifteen were convicted of various crimes – three were found guilty of murder – but following political pressure, their sentences were reduced and all were released within seven years.
In the current war the Zionist army committed the genocide of the Gazans, more than 70000 were murdered.
It is hard to believe that Western imperialism has not been aware of the Zionist crimes and yet they have persecuted those who protest the genocide in Gaza. It seems that some states like Austria simply replaced the objective for persecution. Among others, prominent pro-Palestine activist and RCIT international secretary Michael Probsting, was handed a six-month suspended sentence on charges of “incitement” after he failed to delete a video of statements calling for supporting the Palestinian resistance on 7 October, Anadolu agency reported[iv].
