The Zionist army and the Shin Bet launched a large-scale raid on the city of Hebron and its environs (named the “Judean Roar”).
The raid, which began over the weekend (October 2026), followed an exchange of gunfire between Palestinian fighters and the Zionist army at the Judea Junction (near Hebron), in which two soldiers from the Home Front Command battalions – Staff Sergeant Ron Yonatan Roitman and Sergeant Yuval Shai Sweilam – were killed and three others were wounded. The two Palestinian fighters who carried out the attack fell at the end of a gunfight and a chase.
Israel’s ostensible goal is to locate, neutralize, and eliminate resistance to the armed resistance, to search buildings and weapons, and to interrogate and arrest dozens of suspects and wanted persons. The operation focuses mainly on neighborhoods in the western part of the city and in Ein Deir Baha, the area from which the two Palestinian fighters emerged.
A full cordon was imposed on the city of Hebron and the nearby town of Halhul. Exit and entry to the areas of activity are subject to inspection and humiliating interrogation.
The raiders seized positions and buildings in the city, ostensibly in order to improve the operational grip on the traffic arteries and hung Israeli flags on them. At the same time, 250 Palestinian families were forced to leave their homes in the main neighborhoods where the Zionist army operates.
Zionist Civil Administration forces and the criminal army began demolishing buildings and shops near the scene of the shooting last week, claiming that Palestinian fighters had used them to shoot at the occupation army. Business owners petitioned the High Court of Justice, which issued a temporary interim order to freeze some of the business ruins.
Netanyahu and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich have declared that the current activity is part of a much broader plan to eradicate terrorism in Judea and Samaria, and that a “heavy price” will be exacted following the attack. The model is what happened in Jenin, where there was a massacre in April 2002 and living Palestinians were buried under the rubble of the buildings.
It is hard not to understand that this is an election exercise by Netanyahu that captured the Zionist opposition, which provides full and immediate backing for the actions of the Zionist army, the Shin Bet and the Border Police, which operate in Hebron. There is a broad consensus in the opposition that harming soldiers from the occupation army requires a very harsh response, damage to the infrastructure of Palestinian fighters in the Hebron area, and the collection of weapons.
In addition to supporting the military, opposition leaders are attacking the Netanyahu government for being dragged into tactical responses (such as specific operations) instead of creating a long-term strategy to prevent a total conflagration in the West Bank, which they refer to as Judea and Samaria.
Yair Golan of the “Democrats” backs the actions of the Zionist army against what he calls a terrorist act in which two soldiers of the occupation army were killed, even when he is aware of and condemns the political use of the military operation. The Indians in North America call those who speak on both sides of their mouths a person with a split tongue, like the tongue of a snake.
