According to Israel Today, on May 3, President Erdogan announced that Turkey is completely cutting off trade with Israel, but in practice, trade continues through third countries and changes in the bills of lading. The Turkish website “Karar” states that despite the Ministry of Commerce’s statement that “there is no confirmation of Israel’s presence at customs,” the Israeli “ZIM” ships are repeatedly docking in ports in the country.
A cargo ship of the “ZIM” company (ZIM) with an Israeli flag that docked at the Emberli port in Istanbul caused outrage among pro-Palestinian demonstrators who took advantage of the moment to protest against Israel.
Hundreds of protesters flocked to the port and shouted, “There is no way for Zionism in the ports.” They demanded to “close the ports in the face of genocide.”
It was reported in the Turkish media that the presence of “ZIM” in the port is not unusual since, in the last year, the ships of the Israeli company docked several times in Turkish ports.
Down with Erdogan!
Down with the Zionist monster!
For Palestine, red and free from the river to the sea!
