Six months after the beginning of the war of the Zionist state against the Gazans, Israel is under tremendous pressure, including from the US, and the internal protests against his rule, to agree to cease fire and, without admitting it, to end this war where it has committed genocide.
After a harsh telephone discussion between Biden and Netanyahu, in their long phone conversation last Thursday, President Joe Biden demanded that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu address the matter of allowing Gazans to return to the north. Additionally, he insisted on an immediate cease-fire and for Netanyahu to authorize his negotiators to pursue a resolution; US officials told the WJS that Israel suddenly sent a team with expanded power to Cairo to try and make a deal with the Hamas–delegation to release the captive Israelis.
According to REUTERS, progress was reported in hostage talks.
“Progress has been made in discussions in Cairo on a truce in the Gaza conflict, and there is agreement on the essential points between all parties involved, Egypt’s Al-Qahera News state-affiliated TV channel says, citing a senior Egyptian source. There is no immediate comment from Hamas, and none of the parties to the Cairo talks confirmed the Al-Qahera news report.
According to Al-Qahera, Hamas and Qatar’s delegations left Cairo and will return within two days to agree on the terms of the final agreement, while the Israeli and the US delegations will leave the Egyptian capital within a few hours. It adds that consultations were to continue over the next 48 hours.”[i]
At the same time, the Zionist army is retreating from South Gaza without any explanation. One of the significant demands of Hamas is for Israel to get out of the enclave.
“Trump advised Netanyahu to declare that Israel won the war and end it.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday marked six months since Hamas’s October 7 massacre, which launched the ongoing war in Gaza, vowing that Israel would achieve “complete victory” over Hamas and calling for unity among Israel’s citizens. “We are a step away from victory,” he said. In a statement delivered at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting, Netanyahu reiterated his commitment to the goals of the war: “To return all our hostages, to complete the elimination of Hamas in the entire Gaza Strip including Rafah, and to ensure Gaza will no longer constitute a threat to Israel.”[ii]
“I made it clear to the international community: There will be no ceasefire without the return of the hostages. It just won’t happen,” Netanyahu said. “This is the Israeli government’s policy, and I welcome the fact that the Biden administration made it clear the other day that this is still its position as well.”[iii]
Everyone knows that Netanyahu is a liar, but the key sentence is that Israel is a step away from victory, meaning one step from declaring the lie that Israel won the war. Furthermore, Israel has opened a passage road to the north of Gaza and allowed some Palestinians to return to the north of Gaza. If indeed this is the outcome, it means Israel lost the war on Gaza, and Hamas partially won the war. In such a case, it will be the beginning of the end for Israel as from a strategic point of view, it will be seen as a liability for the US and the Western imperialists.
Down with the Zionist apartheid!
For Palestine red and free from the river to the sea!
