Trump started by cancelling many of Biden’s action, primarily:
- “Executive Order 13985 of January 20, 2021 (Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government)
- Executive Order 13988 of January 20, 2021 (Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation).
- Executive Order 14004 of January 25, 2021 (Enabling All Qualified Americans To Serve Their Country in Uniform).
- Executive Order 14003 of January 22, 2021 (Protecting the Federal Workforce).
- The Presidential Memorandum of March 13, 2023 (Withdrawal of Certain Areas off the United States Arctic Coast of the Outer Continental Shelf from Oil or Gas Leasing).
- Executive Order 14115 of February 1, 2024 (Imposing Certain Sanctions on Persons Undermining Peace, Security, and Stability in the West Bank).
- The Presidential Memorandum of January 14, 2025 (Certification of Rescission of Cuba’s Designation as a State Sponsor of Terrorism).” [i]
Trump has also signed decrees preventing the government from pressuring social networks to increase “censorship” (presumably the monitoring of hate speech towards sexual minorities) [2], investigating the actions of the Biden Administration [3], ending work from home in the federal government(good for a real estate tycoon no doubt) [4], imposing a hiring freeze [5], withdraw from the Paris Agreement [6], declaring a border emergency [7], annulling section F(making federal employee directly loyal to Trump, fireable without good cause) [8], withdrawing from the WHO [9], decline to follow federal law regarding TikTok ban [10], granting pardons to January 6th rioters [11], ending birthright citizenship [12], ordering mass deportations[13], suspending the US refugee admission program [14], impose tariffs[15], loosen environment restrictions [16], pursue the death penalty [17], end DEI initiatives[18], creation of DOGE[19], and virtually outlaw trans people [20].
No doubt, the supreme court will approve many of those decrees, including possibly the one ending birthright citizenship, which presumably goes against the 14th amendment. Trump’s statement that he will reverse America’s decline is also delusional of reality for the last several decades. The United States is ever closer to a one man dictatorship, with the Supreme Court firmly in his pocket, as well as congress and the repeal of section F, which makes federal employees personally accountable to the president. This no doubt opens a new chapter in US history. Workers must organize to stop the implementation of those reactionary decrees – the Democratic party has been a pathetic opposition, on one hand comparing Trump to Hitler and on the other hand meeting with him for tea. Only a worker’s opposition can truly fight against Trump.
Down with Trump’s reactionary decrees!
Protect sexual, racial, and undocumented minorities!
Down with Trump’s autocratic move!
