Trump brings to mind the insane emperors of decaying Rome, and only 3% of the Israelis think his plan is immoral.
“The Roman Empire was the greatest superpower of the ancient world. At its height in the 2nd century CE, Rome governed a vast empire stretching from Britain to Egypt, from Spain to Iraq. “Roman Peace” ushered in an era of unprecedented stability, prosperity, and cultural flourishing. Rome itself was a marvel, with a population exceeding a million people—a size not matched again in Europe until the Industrial Revolution. It seemed unthinkable that such a mighty empire could ever fall. And yet, fall it did. By 476 CE, the last emperor of the western half of the Empire had been deposed by a barbarian general” [i]
Caligula wandered the palace throughout the night instead of sleeping, flew into public rages, and spoke to the moon and to Jupiter as if they were in confidence. In the best-known story, he made his horse a senator, building it a marble stable and inviting people to have dinner with the horse.
Nero killed his mother… and there were rumors their relationship had been much more than mother-son. He sang (not fiddled), while Rome burned. However, the cost of rebuilding the city led Nero to extreme methods, like having rich men name him as their heir and then forcing them to commit suicide.
Trump announced that he would remove all the Gazans to Arab countries like Egypt and Jordan and would build a magnificent Riviera instead.
This is a pipe dream of a delusional person. Firstly, the Gazans who refused to run away under the Zionist bombing will not agree to leave Gaza. He would have to send the American army to force them to go. Secondly, the rulers of the Arab states do not agree to it out of fear of the revolt of the Arab masses. Third, this will cost a fortune that the American taxpayers will oppose. Trump’s entire election campaign was carried out under the message of “America first” and turning inward to focus on the internal problems of the United States. How will sending American forces, with unprecedented involvement in the oldest conflict in the Middle East, be consistent with the message of the elections? After all, Trump himself has spoken time and time again about the need for the Americans to leave the Middle East “only blood and sand” he said about the region.
For humanity to live, imperialism must die!
For Palestine, red and free from the river to the sea!
