The Zionist liberals who believe that there should be a return to Zionist democracy, that is, ethno-cracy for the Jews, are very disappointed with Trump. Not because he attacked Venezuela and wants like a real robber to take over Greenland. Not because he supports the slaughter of the Palestinian people, or what he calls the peace plan designed to enrich the capitalists like Gabbay and their political servants like Blair, but because he did not attack Iran.
Ravit Hect, who writes every day in Haaretz wrote:
“The sheriff folded
It is very possible, even most likely, that this point in time is only a tiny stain on the long timeline related to Iran. It is very possible, even most likely, that the horrific suppression of the riots by the Islamic Republic regime, the monstrous dimensions of which are only beginning to be revealed, is not the end of the story. It is also too early to summarize the resounding American capitulation and declare it a fait accompli. The Iranian stew is still bubbling on the fire.
But at this point of time, it’s hard not to point to the shameful leadership failure of Donald Trump, who did the ultimate undone: he made a concrete, dramatic promise, tested in a binary way in a short period of time, called on protesters to come out against the government (“help is on the way”), and then abandoned them to their mass deaths. Then, as is the custom of any big-mouthed scolder, he went on to speak out against the weak (Denmark and Greenland). The demonstrations in Iran were largely suppressed by the regime’s brutality. But there is no doubt that Trump’s amateur intimidation is adding to the Iranian people, despair, and a bitter sense of betrayal suppresses the revolutionary fervor, after the bloody days.
The Republican claim that Barack Obama did less than Trump for the values of freedom and freedom for the residents of this violent region is correct, including during the Green Protest in Iran in 2009. But at least he didn’t talk that much, and he certainly didn’t make explicit threats and make promises that turned out to be words on ice.”
In light of this experience, why would anyone believe Trump again, trust his word, let alone fear him? What leadership model, certainly in the pretentious version of the “rampant sheriff of the world,” can be based on such a crude breach of a promise?
Khamenei’s speech yesterday reflects the Supreme Leader’s renewed and rehabilitated boldness vis-à-vis the United States and in general. But Iran is not the only one to watch Trump’s indulgence. It was also watched by more important and larger players, such as China and Russia, who examine every move on the board. In the language of power, which is very relevant to such cases, this event is easily classified as a classic case of big mouth, covering up an even greater fear.”
These Liberals are reminiscent of an old joke. A guest comes to me from England, and he hears a politician who is considered a liberal in Israel, and he comforts me, “It is not too bad, we also have an extreme right.”
