Flying with his wife, the general manager of Israel, by private airplane, the war criminal Netanyahu arrived in Washington to give his predicted speech before, mainly the Republicans. Many Democrats avoided this shameless performance.
Today Noa Landau, a reporter in Haaretz, writes, and she is right:
“Let’s start at the end: The goal of Benjamin Netanyahu’s trip to Washington, including his appearance before the U.S. Congress, is not and never was to advance a diplomatic agreement to bring home the Israeli hostages safely while they are still alive and to bring an end to the fighting and the suffering. Rather, it is designed to enlist domestic American support to keep waging the war.”[i]
She continues and says:
“In his speech, Netanyahu first sought to paint the war in universal terms, devoid of the specifics of the conflict, a war between the sons of light and the sons of darkness, Hollywood style, with biblical motifs intended to delight Christian Republicans. He then went on to deliver this message, namely that this is a proxy war of Iran against the United States. Israel is fighting America’s war, Israel is defending America, our war is their war, our victory will be their victory. Therefore, our weapons are your weapons. Deliver them as soon as possible. Besides the plea for arms on Capitol/Ammunition Hill, Netanyahu sought in his address to rally American support against the proceedings at the two international courts in The Hague. These proceedings threaten Israel but also the prime minister personally due to the possibility that the International Criminal Court will issue an arrest warrant that prevents him from traveling freely around the world.”[ii]
“In addition, Netanyahu sought to justify Israel’s continued control of the Gaza Strip for an open-ended period. In contrast to his vigorous denials that Israel has no intention to reestablish settlements there, what Netanyahu calls demilitarization and Israeli security control can very quickly pave the way for actual settlements. Like the de facto annexation of the West Bank, de facto settlement always starts under the guise of security”.[iii]
He does not intend to make a deal with Hamas that will end the war but to continue the war that kills not only the Palestinian women and children but the Israeli captives.
In his speech, he did not forget to blame those who protested against him, including the families of the captives, as agents of Iran, and Iran, for him, is Nazi Germany. Since most Israelis by now are for a ceasefire and the exchange of Israeli captives with Palestinian prisoners, most Israelis for Netanyahu are nazi agents.
Netanyahu was not welcome by American citizens.
“Thousands of protesters against the war in Gaza converged on Washington on Wednesday to condemn Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit, chanting “Free, free Palestine” as they marched toward the Capitol before police deployed pepper spray on some in the crowd. Demonstrators calling for an end to the war that has killed more than 39,000 Palestinians filled several blocks as they weaved through the streets of the nation’s capital carrying Palestinian flags and signs with messages such as “arrest Netanyahu” and “end all U.S. aid to Israel.” Outside Washington’s Union Station, protesters removed American flags and hoisted Palestinian ones in their place to massive cheers in the crowd.”[iv]
“Bibi, Bibi, We’re not done! The intifada has just begun!” protesters shouted, referring to Netanyahu by his nickname. “Netanyahu, you can’t hide. You’re committing genocide,” other protesters shouted.”[v]
Among the protesters was a group of artists from Baltimore displaying a massive papier-mache sculpture meant to depict President Joe Biden with blood on his hands and devil horns.
Among the protesters, there were Jews who opposed the Zionist apartheid, and also Zionists who defended the existence of but pressed Netanyahu to strike a cease-fire deal in the war with Hamas and bring home the hostages for the Palestinian prisoners.
It is clear that Netanyahu wants to continue the war and turn it into a major regional war, but for such a war, he needs the American army to be part of it, and this is unlikely to happen. The place of Netanyahu is on the rope around his neck, but the problem is that the new government will be very right-wing. Until the Zionist Monster is destroyed the Palestinians will suffer from genocides.
Down with the Zionist Monster!
