“Hezbollah said it holds Israel “fully responsible” for pager explosions across Lebanon, which killed at least nine people and wounded 2,750 others, including a young girl. At least 200 of the wounded are in critical condition.
Israel declined to comment on the detonations. The simultaneous explosions came less than 24 hours after the Israeli cabinet expanded goals for the war on Gaza to include returning residents displaced by Hezbollah’s attacks in northern Israel to their homes” [i]
“The blasting of Hezbollah’s pagers was done using explosives that were hidden in the communication devices manufactured in Taiwan and imported to Lebanon, American and other sources briefed on the details of the Israeli operation told the “New York Times” tonight (between Tuesday and Wednesday).
According to the report, Hezbollah ordered the communication devices from the Taiwanese “Gold Apollo” company, and they were stoned before reaching Lebanon. The explosive was hidden near the device’s batteries, and a small amount of it was used (30-50 grams), and an initiation switch was installed for the charger that could be activated remotely. Later, the Taiwanese company denied its connection to the incident, saying that it did not manufacture the devices.
More than 3,000 such devices were ordered from the Taiwanese company and reached elements close to the organization in Syria and Iran. Sources in the Revolutionary Guards told the “New York Times” that Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amini, lost one eye and was seriously injured in the other.
The American news network CNN reported this morning that Israel is the one behind the operation in the joint operation of Israel’s military intelligence and the Mossad organization. The news network provided a description similar to that published in the “New York Times” and based on a report from American security sources” [ii]

“European Union’s top diplomat Josep Borrell said Tuesday he would seek more information from Beirut, where he just traveled from, as he came before journalists just after news broke from Lebanon of several hundred people being wounded by “pagers exploding, including members of Hezbollah. Suspicion immediately fell on Israel, which earlier Tuesday stressed that halting Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel’s north to allow residents to return to their homes was now an official war goal. Borrell acknowledged the exploding pagers could escalate the already-boiling tensions in the region.” Indeed, there is the possibility of the war spilling over to Lebanon,” Borrell said.” [iv]
