Donald Trump’s United States is amassing enormous forces against Iran, which is preparing its missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. If American imperialism attacks, Iran will attack Israel, among other things. The extent of the damage to Israel in the 12-day war in June last year should be remembered.
We only know what cannot be hidden – that the Weizmann Institute has been struck and that the Negev’s largest and only hospital has been fatally damaged and has not yet been rehabilitated, that the intelligence complex next to it has been hijacked and has not yet been rehabilitated, and that other blocks of buildings across the country are in ruins, including the government buildings in Haifa.
In 1973, the Arabs imposed an oil embargo on the world following the Yom Kippur War. In the United States, there was a shortage. The Americans, in response, took control of Middle Eastern oil to a large extent. Since then, the enormous Arab oil reserves have been considered American reserves. And when someone tried to undermine the world order, like Saddam, who conquered Kuwait in 1990, the Americans immediately formed a global coalition and reclaimed Kuwait from his hands, separating the oil-rich northern Iraq from the Iraqi body. Sanctions were imposed on Iran, whose oil was not controlled by U.S. imperialism.
The Iranians bypassed the embargo and exported oil through the Soviet Union, and when it collapsed, they exported the oil to developing China, fueling its transformation into a leading imperialist power. Iran also supplies Turkey with oil in exchange for gold, because the sanctions have prevented the Iranians from using the banking system run by the Americans. Because of Iranian oil, the United States is liable to attack Iran, and because of oil, Turkey opposes war.
Trump’s policy toward Iran is about energy. How to conquer the global energy resources and prevent them from falling into Chinese hands. The aggression against Iran comes to ensure that the United States takes control of all the energy of the Persian Gulf, and that includes gas. Netanyahu gave the Israeli gas to the tycoons, who sold it to the American energy companies. It happened back in the Obama days.
The U.S. policy toward Iran is similar to that taken against Venezuela in order to take control of the world’s largest oil reserve. Saudi Arabia and the UAE also understand this and have therefore declared that they will not allow the United States to attack Iran from their territories.
The brutal suppression of the wave of protest is just a media excuse that smells of oil and blood, all oil, money, and a struggle between Trump’s America and China, and a sick president in the process of dementia who is out of his mind and brings to mind Nero and Caligula.
It is in the interest of the world’s working class to see the defeat of the United States. Iran has the right to defend itself, including with nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles. After all, the only country that has used nuclear weapons so far is the United States, which is trying to determine who will have nuclear weapons like Pakistan and who will not allow nuclear weapons to defend itself.
If the United States does start a war, the revolutionary policy is a revolutionary defeat for American imperialism and the monarchists, and a revolutionary defense of Iran without any political support for the regime. To mobilize the Iranian working class, armed and sabotage the war effort of the United States, including the demand to end the sanctions against Iran. Only after the defeat of the attack will the working class lay down its arms against the Iranian regime.
