The New York Times reported that in addition to the two American soldiers killed in the Iranian attack on Jordan, dozens of soldiers were also injured. Israel has not yet joined the war.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Sunday that it had completed a wave of airstrikes on Iran. In a statement at the beginning of the attack, which is the eighth consecutive night, it was said that “the attacks are designed to further weaken Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, and to swiftly punish the Revolutionary Guard forces that attacked American soldiers in Jordan.” This comes after the US announced yesterday the deaths of two American soldiers in an Iranian attack on Jordan, and American officials told The New York Times that dozens of soldiers had been injured in the country in recent days.
This morning, the Americans announced that they had attacked Iranian military coastal observation and air defense facilities, naval capabilities, as well as missile and drone storage sites. They also noted that the Revolutionary Guard forces, responsible for the attack on the Americans in Jordan, were attacked. “More than 50,000 men and women in the uniform of the United States military operate throughout the Middle East. They remain on high alert, focused, lethal and ready for any mission,” CENTCOM said.
When the bodies of American soldiers arrive in sacks, the masses of Americans are expected to take to the streets against a modern-day Nero. Only if the United States will suffer an even more severe blow then it will consider a truce.
