On Thursday night, Donald Trump tried in his address to the nation to sow doubt about the integrity of the elections in the United States.
In this way, he resembles Netanyahu, who is working to prevent his failure in the October elections. Israelis living in other countries will not be able to come to Israel to vote. There will be no polling stations in nursing homes and sheltered homes. The police are in the hands of Ben Gvir, and the Shin Bet is in the hands of Zinni, and they will do everything possible to preserve the Netanyahu government.
Trump’s speech did not include facts. He knows that his party is about to suffer a blow in November’s midterm elections, and he is preparing to hold on to power at any cost. If the polls come true and the Democrats win, and they can impeach him, Trump will not recognize it. He will deny the results, while enjoying total control of the federal government.
“America is back and it’s in great shape, but we still have a challenge that we have to address,” Trump said at the start of the speech, which was broadcast live on news and television channels. We cannot be a great country without fair and clean elections. We must restore trust, because if there is no trust in the election campaign, we will not be great. The message is simple: Without trust, there is no greatness.”
He claimed without any proof that China interfered in Biden’s favor in 2020 and that the election was “fraudulent” or “stolen.” Trump said he would release classified documents that would prove it in the future
“This vital information has been known for years. Cover it up and hide it from you, the citizens of the United States,” Trump said.
He talked about Venezuela that rigged its elections, but didn’t explain what the connection was. He talked about the vague and amorphous “deep state” that knew the risks and didn’t lift a finger. All this, without mentioning that he was president at the time, and the intelligence reports landed on his desk.
In reality, there were indeed fakes, for example: Georgia, a key state that tipped the scales, then, as now, is a Republican state. The governor and senior members of his administration, as well as the legislature, are Republicans. More importantly, the state votes on paper ballots, and in 2020 it held a recount of the ballots. Trump and Senator Lindsey Graham knew this in real time, when they called Georgia’s secretary of state and pressured him to “find 11,000 votes” to beat Biden.
Even the war with Iran, which he started on his own and since then he has not known how to end, was mentioned in only one sentence: “We won in Venezuela and we are extracting millions of barrels of oil from there, and we won in a big way in Iran, and soon we will see the fruits.”
Trump is currently pressuring Congress to advance a federal election law that would expropriate the states of election management and hand it over to the Justice Department, under the direction of Todd Blanche, who was his criminal lawyer and has since carried out every task for him, such as covering up the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Toward the end of the speech, Trump quoted from an intelligence report drafted in January 2020 ahead of the election. The head of intelligence at the time, John Ratcliffe, signed the report, which described a real threat to the elections. The document that Trump quoted shows quite a bit what Trump did in 2020 and is doing again today. The report’s author itself was the head of the Intelligence Directorate, John Ratcliffe, whom Trump is now the head of the CIA.
Trump is wrong about one thing: it is not the elections that will determine America’s future, but the class struggle. And this will not be done with the Democrats, but with a conscious proletarian leadership.
