I attended an anti war demonstration was organized on Tuesday by the “Radical Block” group. In the demonstration, the police took down signs calling for an end to the massacre, and one delivery worker threw an egg at the demonstrators. The slogans ranged from “Neither Bibi nor Hamas, the citizens had enough” to “From the river to the sea Palestine will be free”. The rally was attended by a small number of people, some old and some young. The rally was led by Hadash affiliated groups – Hadash is a part of the Israeli Communist Party. There were no other groups present. While we think some of the slogans can be improved and to be more clear that there is no equivalency between the Israeli side(the oppressor) and the Palestinian side(the oppressed), there is not doubt that it took a lot of courage to organize this rally in Palestine and for that alone it is important. If the slogan “From the river to the sea Palestine will be free”can be heard in the streets of Tel Aviv, it can also be on the streets of Europe!
