Europe is afraid of Trump’s moves

The American robber who serves as President of the United States attacked the European Allies for their opposition to the takeover of Greenland by American imperialism. After all, these fools and ignorant should understand that Greenland is part of American territory. Europe warns: An attempt to undermine NATO’s sovereignty will undermine the foundations of the military alliance.

The diplomatic standoff between the United States and Denmark over Greenland deepened after Trump tweeted an attack on NATO, portrayed himself as a key factor in stopping Russia, and sent threatening messages about the future of the North Atlantic Alliance over his intention to acquire the Arctic island.

In a tweet posted on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Without my involvement with Russia, Putin would have the whole of Ukraine now,” adding that “the only nation that Russia and China are afraid of is the United States that I have rebuilt. ” NATO countries had enjoyed Washington’s protection for years without bearing the proper economic burden, until he had forced them to increase their defense spending. Most of the countries did not pay their share of the defense expenses until I arrived. I doubt that NATO will be there for us if we really need them… We’ll always be there for them, even if they’re not there for us.”

Later in the tweet, he also mentioned the issue of the Nobel Peace Prize, writing that “Norway, a member of NATO, foolishly chose not to give me the Nobel Prize,” after claiming that he had “single-handedly ended eight wars,” ignoring the fact that the Nobel Committee, based in Oslo, selects the recipients independently of the Norwegian government. He probably thinks that the government in Norway controls everything and sends an army to control every region and every committee.

The remarks come amid an unprecedented crisis between Washington and Copenhagen, following statements by senior US administration officials that the purchase of Greenland is a strategic goal of the United States. Denmark, to which the island belongs, is a full member of NATO, and Greenland is an autonomous territory.

Secretary of State Rubio has been trying to soften the message, telling members of the House of Representatives on the Defense and Foreign Affairs Committees that the president’s goal is to acquire Greenland through diplomatic means and not by the military. He said the harsh rhetoric was intended to put pressure on Denmark to start negotiations, rather than serve as a preparation for an invasion. He did not deny that Greenland is seen by the administration as a critical security asset, in part because of its strategic location and the fear of increasing Russian and Chinese presence in the Arctic. At the same time, a White House spokesperson clarified that the president is “exploring a variety of options” and that the use of the U.S. military “is always at the disposal of the commander-in-chief.”

In Europe, Trump’s tweet and the double messages from Washington have caused deep concern. The leaders of Denmark, France, Germany and other countries have made it clear that Greenland “belongs to its inhabitants only” and warned that any U.S. attempt to undermine the sovereignty of another NATO country could undermine the foundations of the entire alliance.

In light of Trump’s conduct in Venezuela, Europe has reason to be concerned because in Trump’s eyes international law and international institutions have no meaning. He has just abandoned 66 international institutions, including institutions of the United Nations, and is threatening military intervention in Iran. And why not in Greenland?
