Emergency Statement of the
Revolutionary Communist International Tendency (RCIT) and Convergencia Socialista (Argentina), 10 May 2021 (UTC 10.00)
Comrades, brothers and sisters!
In these hours, Israeli forces are invading the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem – one of the most important symbols of the Palestinian people, the Arab world as well as the Muslim umma. They fire tear gas and sound bombs against thousands of brothers and sisters who are heroically defending the compound.
According to first reports, hundreds of Palestinian youths have already been injured. About 50 have been hospitalized and several of them are in critical conditions.
In addition, Israeli warplanes are bombarding the Palestinian people in Gaza since three days. This is another state terrorist assault against the heroic people of Gaza! For years, they are suffering from the barbarous blockade by the Zionist state. Nevertheless, the Palestinian resistance has successfully defended the enclave against the Israeli army in three wars.
Today, Jewish fascist settlers plan to march close to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, chanting “Death to the Arabs!” and demonstrating their claim to expel the Arabs from Jerusalem and to destroy the Holy Place of the Muslims.
About 8,000 Palestinians, mostly youth, have barricaded themselves within the yards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to prevent the Jewish fascist attack.
Today, it is more important than ever to stand up with our Palestinian brothers and sisters! The international workers and popular movement must mobilize all over the world in solidarity with the Palestinian people!
The Revolutionary Communist International Tendency (RCIT) and Convergencia Socialista (Argentina) unconditionally support the liberation struggle of the Palestinian people! As long as the Zionist state exists, the Palestinians will continue suffering from state terrorism!
We stand for the socialist perspective of a democratic and red Palestine. We support the struggle for the destruction of the Zionist state and the right to return for all Palestinian refugees.
Comrades, brothers and sisters! Do not hesitate! Stand up in support of the heroic Palestinian youth!
