The illusion of the two states solution

Yossi Schwartz ISL (RCIT section in Israel/Occupied Palestine), 24.02.2024

Today the Jerusalem Post is celebrating the far right, which is the majority of the Zionists rejection even of the mini-Palestinian state in an article titled: “Palestine is dead: No one will ever be able to make a Palestinian state“.  The argument is very simple: there are more than half a million settlers in the West- Bank and the majority of the Israelis oppose even a mini state.

It says: “On February 16, the Yesha Council, the umbrella organization for the municipal councils in Judea and Samaria, published its annual report on the size of the Jewish population in the area. According to the document, as of January 1 there were 517,407 Jews living in some 150 communities in Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley. With Israel’s total population estimated to be 9,842,000, that means that more than one out of every 20 Israelis lives in Judea and Samaria. Just a decade ago, the number was 374,469, meaning there was an increase of 38% in just 10 years, which is a phenomenal achievement” [1]

“A survey conducted by Direct Polls that was released in mid-January found that a whopping 74% of Israelis oppose the establishment of a Palestinian state. Nearly half of those who identify as supporters of Yair Lapid’s Yesh Atid party expressed opposition to such a state, as did 38% of those who voted for the decidedly left-wing Labor party.” [2]

“The widespread opposition to a Palestinian state was given expression by Israel’s unity government, which unanimously approved a declaration at a cabinet meeting this past Sunday that Israel utterly rejects international diktats regarding a permanent settlement with the Palestinians,” the cabinet decision read. “A settlement, if it is to be reached, will come about solely through direct negotiations between the parties, without preconditions. Israel will continue to oppose unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state” [3]

Anyone who is familiar with Zionism knows what the Netanyahu government means: we will not allow a Palestinian state. Israel is a Zionist state from the river to the sea. To show his contempt for the international law he declared that Israel is going to build additional 3000 houses in the West bank and did not object to the growing demand of Zionist settlements in Gaza.

What this reactionary idiot of the Jerusalem Post does not tell us is that the formula of two states has been used for the Zionist settlements all along and there has never been a possibility for a Palestinian state as long as Israel exists.

In the real world there are only two possibilities: either a Zionist apartheid state or Palestine red and free from the river to the sea. What Netanyahu is saying to all the states that in Hauge are calling to end the occupation of 1967, forget it we piss on you.

The right of self-determination of the Palestinians will be realized either when Israel will be completely defeated or by part of the Arab revolution.

The masses who are chanting: “Palestine free from the river to the sea ” which is a democratic revolutionary chant are right. Not only this but when they say that Israel is the new Nazis are correct in their feeling even though scientifically Israel is not a fascist state but an apartheid state with very cruel methods of repression that brings to mind many of the similarity to the Nazi’s methods.

These fillings are expresses by the President of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said:

“What is happening in the Gaza Strip with the Palestinian people does not exist at any other historical moment. In fact, it existed when Hitler decided to kill the Jews.”

For this statement he is attacked by all the supporters of the Zionist state and the genocide of the Palestinians and in Brazil he is attacked by the capitalist class’s mass media and the reactionary evangelists that constitute about 30% of the population.

“The Brazilian Israelite Confederation, the central organization of the Brazilian Jewish community, issued a statement on Lula’s comments, saying his allusion is a “perverse distortion of reality” that “offends the memory of the victims of the Holocaust and their descendants,” CNN Brasil quoted the organization as saying” [4]

He is wrong scientifically but we can understand his reaction.

Down with the Zionist apartheid state!

For Palestine red and free from the river to the sea!
