The inter-imperialist struggle and Operation Al-Aqsa Flood

Yossi Schwartz, ISL – RCIT section in Israel/Occupied Palestine, 19.10.2023

The war between the Palestinian national liberation movement led at present by Hamas, and the imperialist apartheid Zionist state, is taking place in the context of the growing struggle between Western and Eastern imperialists. This was expressed in the UN Security Council in the arming of Israel by the USA, the speeches and in the participation of Blinked and Biden in the meeting of the Zionist war cabinet.

“On Tuesday, widespread condemnation of Israel rippled across the Arab and Muslim world after a huge blast at a hospital in the Gaza Strip killed hundreds of Palestinians who had been seeking treatment or refuge. Palestinian authorities accused Israel of striking the hospital, while Israel blamed a Palestinian group, Islamic Jihad, for an errant rocket launch.” [1]

Regardless of whatever evidence emerges, few people in the wider Middle East are likely to believe Israel’s version, as protesters took to the streets in Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen and Oman to condemn the country.

They are right. A video, “broadcast by Al Jazeera and verified by the Guardian, appears to show an airborne weapon following a rising trajectory over Gaza and bursting into flames in midair. Moments later an explosion is seen at the hospital” [2]

It is clear that Israel once again is lying. Initial posts on X sent by Hananya Naftali, a digital aide to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, aroused suspicion. “Israeli Air Force struck a Hamas terrorist base inside a hospital in Gaza,” he wrote, but the post was almost immediately deleted.

At 9:04pm, the Israeli army had published a post blaming the strike on a misfired missile launched by PIJ: “From the analysis of the operational systems of the [Israeli army], an enemy rocket barrage was carried out towards Israel, which passed through the vicinity of the hospital when it was hit,” it said. [3]

By 10.58pm, Naftali apologized on X for sharing “a Reuters report” that “falsely stated in the first version of this information. Israeli analyst David Lisovtsev said: “This is a surface explosion, almost no soil is thrown up, so it’s not an air bomb. Looks like a failed Hamas rocket that landed there, what a tragedy has Hamas brought to the people of Gaza” [4]

“On October 18, Justin Bronk, a senior research fellow for Airpower and Military Technology at the Royal United Services Institute think-tank in London, posted an image of the hospital’s burned-out parking lot circulated by an analyst at the US Center for Naval Analyses, with no crater visible. “Still not conclusive, but IF this is the extent of the damage then I’d say an airstrike looks less likely than a rocket failure causing an explosion and fuel fire,” he said” [5]

“Tal Heinrich, a spokesperson for Netanyahu, who told CNN on Tuesday night that the “[Israeli army] does not target hospitals”, adding, “We only target Hamas strongholds, arms depots and terror targets”.

But in a statement issued on the night of the explosion, the World Health Organization (WHO) pointed out that there had actually been over 51 attacks on healthcare facilities in Gaza since the start of the conflict on October 7. Fifteen healthcare workers had been killed and 27 injured. The Israeli military itself had issued evacuation orders last week from 22 hospitals treating more than 2,000 patients in the Gaza Strip as it intensified its bombing campaign. A senior health official in Gaza told Al Jazeera that Israel had fired two artillery shells as a “warning” at al-Ahli Arab Hospital days before the explosion.” [6]

The Zionist army speaker Daniel Hagari translated a recording of a conversation between purported Hamas officials, where they appear to talk about the misfired rocket that had caused the hospital blast. A Journalist later asked Hagari: “I’d like you to address the question of credibility, because … the [Israeli army] has a less than perfect track record with the issue of credibility”.

In his response, Hagari admitted that the military had lied before, but that now was different.

But it was not different. It is possible that a racket of the Islamic Jihad exploded in the parking lot of the hospital but the Israeli bombs that killed many hundreds of Palestinians were dropped on the compound of the hospital in the center between the building of the hospital. Hosam Naoum, the Anglican bishop of Jerusalem, said: “The church is also in the middle of the compound. Between the library, the administration and the church, the missile hit the parking lot … inside the hospital.” [7]

U.S – the Patron of Israel

In this war the American imperialists behave as if Israel is a proxy of the U.S, not only they sent war ships with soldiers but Biden and the openly Zionist secretary of the state Antony J. Blinken signaled that the Biden administration would have a high tolerance for whatever resulted from Israel’s military response to the Hamas attacks.

Joe Biden in his visit to Israel participated like Blinken in the war cabinet of Israel like a real patron of the gangster’s family giving directions.

President Joe Biden on Wednesday made an historic trip to Tel Aviv by sending an emphatic message of support to Zionist butchers, promising new aid to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government as it prepares fresh action against the people of Gaza.

But looming over the trip was the horrifying blast at Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City on Tuesday that the Palestinian Ministry of Health says killed hundreds.

In his first public remarks on the hospital bombing, he said:

I was deeply saddened and outraged by the explosion at the hospital in Gaza yesterday. And based on what I’ve seen, it appears as though it was done by the other team, not you. But there’s a lot of people out there who’re not sure. So, we have to overcome a lot of things,” he said, later calling it “the result of an errant rocket fired by a terrorist group in Gaza.” [8]

And how do you do that, that is by silencing the voices that speak of the war crimes of Israel.

It is clear that the American imperialists are trying to return to themselves the control they had in the past in the region. For this reason, it is very important for them that Israel will win the war regardless of the many thousands of deaths. Hamas, in their eyes, are part of the Iranian proxies that by itself is a proxy of Russia and China.

“UNITED NATIONS, Oct 16 (Reuters) – A Russian-drafted U.N. Security Council resolution that called for a humanitarian ceasefire in the war between Israel and Palestinian militants Hamas in Gaza failed to pass on Monday, while a vote on a rival Brazilian text was delayed until Tuesday.

The draft resolution received five votes in favor and four votes against, along with six abstentions. A resolution needs at least nine votes in favor and no vetoes by the five permanent members – the United States, Russia, China, France and Britain – to pass. “Today, the entire world waited with bated breath for the Security Council to take steps in order to put an end to the bloodletting, but the delegations of the Western countries have basically stomped on those expectations,” Russia’s U.N. ambassador, Vassily Nebenzia, told the council after the vote. Russia proposed the one-page draft text on Friday, which also called for the release of hostages, humanitarian aid access, and the safe evacuation of civilians in need. The text condemned violence against civilians and all acts of terrorism, but did not name Hamas” [9]

Of course, Russia wants to see the failure of the U.S in the region and it is not concerned with the number of deaths and injuries. The end of the war now is a clear victory for Hamas and a defeat for Israel-U.S.

Brazil’s resolution also did not pass in the UNSC. The UN Security Council on Wednesday failed to adopt a Brazil-led draft resolution that would have called for humanitarian pauses in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict to allow full access for aid to the Gaza strip after the U.S. vetoed the text.

Thus, the U.S wants to see military victory even at the price of tens of thousands deaths, mostly Gazans. The only reason Israel has not entered Gaza is the fear that Hezbollah will open a full military front.

“As Israel prepares to launch a likely ground invasion into Gaza, the Biden Administration and leading members of Congress are crafting an American aid package of roughly $2 billion in supplementary funding to support the nation’s war effort against Hamas, multiple sources familiar with the matter tell TIME”

The funding would go toward replenishing Israel’s stockpile of interceptors for its Iron Dome missile-defense system, artillery shells, and other munitions. If approved, the assistance would come at a crucial time for Israel, as it gears for a lengthy and devastating offensive against Gaza

“We’re heading into a war for many, many weeks, maybe several months, in which the objective is to dismantle Hamas,” Rep. Brad Sherman, a California Democrat, told TIME shortly after attending a briefing from White House officials on the situation

The Israeli military has amassed forces along the Gaza border in what appears to be the early stages of a ground invasion. Meanwhile, the Pentagon has deployed an aircraft carrier strike group near the region to deter Hezbollah and other Iran-backed militant groups from joining the fight. [10]

Kick out the imperialists from the region!

Military victory for the Palestinians!

End the Abraham accords!

Down with the Zionists-American butchers!
