The UN General Assembly adopted a draft resolution calling for the withdrawal of Israel from the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem. In addition, it called upon states not to recognize any changes to the pre‑1967 borders, including with regard to Jerusalem, and not to provide any assistance to illegal settlement activities, directly or indirectly.
The draft resolution, which was presented by Djibouti, Jordan, Mauritania, Qatar, Senegal and Palestine, was approved with 151 votes in favor, 11 against and 11 abstentions. The first time the UN resolution calling for Israel to withdraw from the territories occupied in the 1967 Six-Day War was UN Security Council Resolution 242, adopted in November 1967.
The resolution calls for the “withdrawal of Israel armed forces from territories occupied in the recent conflict”. It emphasizes the “inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by war” and calls for respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence of all states in the area, allowing them to live within “secure and recognized boundaries”.
Resolution 338 adopted during the 1973 Yom Kippur War, reaffirmed resolution 242, and they served the Oslo agreement that in reality only served Israel further robbery of lands in the West Bank.
In September 2024, the UNGA passed a resolution demanding Israel end its “unlawful presence” in the occupied Palestinian territory within 12 months. In December 2025, the UNGA adopted a resolution calling for Israel’s withdrawal from the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
Israel is ignoring the UN General Assembly (GA) resolution because the control over the UN GA is the security council where the US uses its veto power. But even if these resolutions were enforced the outcome would be a Bantustan that provides the Zionist monster cheap labor.
In the real world, Israel is committing a genocide in Gaza, terrorize the Palestinians in the West Bank and has built a fence that prevents the Palestinians to enter the Jordan Valley that is part of the West-Bank.
The Palestinians right of self- determination cannot be achieved by the UN but only by ending the Zionist monster by a major defeat in a war, the Arab revolution or by the process leading to its collapse.
The only solution is a Palestinian democratic and red state governed by Palestinian workers and fellahin’s government. A state to which the Palestinian refugees will return and the Jewish minority will have equal civil rights.
For Palestine red and free from the river to the sea!
