According to Israel Hayom, a senior Palestinian official said that Israel and Hamas are examining a document presented by American mediator Dr. Bishara Bahbah, which includes a 60-day ceasefire and the release of 10 hostages in two stages, while Hamas is demanding 70 days and the release of five lives and five dead. At the same time, it was reported that Trump would announce a ceasefire in Gaza within days
Contacts for a hostage deal: The Egyptian media reported on Monday the details of a possible agreement between Israel and Hamas. According to sources, the ceasefire between the sides will last for at least 60 days, during which 10 hostages will be released alive. It was also reported that their partition would be delivered on the first day, and their partition on the 60th day. In other words, in two strokes.
The Egyptian media added that 16 coffins of abducted prisoners would be handed over according to a timetable to be agreed upon, in order to give Hamas a chance to locate them. The sources said that Hamas, for its part, demanded the release of “all the detainees from the Gaza Strip” – before and after the October 7 massacre. The sources said that there are positive developments in the negotiations in Qatar, which could lead to the signing of a hostage deal.
In the outline that was sent to Israel, Hamas demands, among other things, a public handshake between Khalil al-Haya and American envoy Steve Whitkoff, as a symbolic act that will ensure the American guarantee that the war will not be renewed after the end of the truce in which the proposed deal will take place.
As for the content of the deal, according to the mediators, Hamas is willing to release 10 hostages alive during a 60-day truce. Five of the hostages will be released on the first day, and the other five will be released after two months. This is in contrast to Witkoff’s plan, according to which all the hostages will be released in two stages, one at the beginning of the truce and the other at the end.
In addition, Hamas is demanding a large-scale withdrawal of the IDF from areas it has captured in the Gaza Strip, as well as the entry of huge quantities of supplies.
At the same time, a senior Palestinian official told Al-Mayadeen TV that Israel and Hamas are examining a document presented by American-Palestinian mediator Dr. Bishara Bahbah, in cooperation with American envoy Steven Whitkoff. According to the official, the document includes a 60-day ceasefire with the release of 10 hostages alive in two stages.
The Palestinian official added that Hamas, for its part, demanded a 70-day ceasefire in exchange for the release of 10 hostages, five of whom are alive and five of whom are dead. The first phase will take place on the first day of the agreement, and the second phase will take place on the seventh day, with the entry of 1,000 supply trucks per day.
According to the report, the document includes negotiations to end the war during the ceasefire, and a commitment by Hamas not to carry out attacks and not to attempt to smuggle or develop weapons. In addition, the issue of the day after and the establishment of a technocratic government in Gaza will be discussed.
Earlier, Sky News in Arabic reported that US President Donald Trump would declare a ceasefire in Gaza within a few days. Sources told the channel that the announcement will come as part of a deal for the release of hostages. The publication has no approval from any other source.
