The Israelis believed Netanyahu who promised a great victory in the war against Iran and Hezbollah, but this Zionist dream is sinking in the deep sea.
Even the Zionist daily Maariv is forced to acknowledge that Iran had defeated the United States, and that the defeat of American imperialism was also a defeat for Israel. History has fully confirmed our prediction about the war’s outcome.
Even Maariv a major Zionist daily newspaper says: “The United States is folding, Iran is celebrating: Israel’s new plan is hit by a knockout”[i]
“The uncertainty for Israel about how to interpret the redeployment of the US military in the Gulf region and closer to Israel is leading Jerusalem to focus its efforts on destabilizing the regime in Tehran. At the same time, contingency plans are being advanced in case Iran decides to continue its pursuit of nuclear capability, Israeli security sources reveal to Ben Caspit, and this is one of the reasons why Benito Netanyahu is pushing for the formulation of new imaginary plans to undermine the Iranian regime. While according to a report in the Wall Street Journal, the United States is considering reducing its military presence in Kuwait.
In addition, Al-Monitor reported last week that the US military has begun redeploying its forces around Erbil, Iraq, in preparation for a future withdrawal. But at the same time, the CENTCOM commander is moving forces across the region in preparation for a possible order from the White House to escalate attacks in Iran. A command that does not arrive.”
Israel sits in the space between two chairs, while Trump weighs his steps. “Trump did not give Israel the green light to join the American campaign against Iran, and we don’t know exactly what is planned in the region,” said a senior Zionist source. Netanyahu’s political power ahead of the Oct. 27 elections appears to be uncertain, Maariv’s poll is predicting his bloc with only forty-nine seats. Trump is also worried about a loss in November’s midterm elections. A senior diplomatic source said that the discussions around Netanyahu convey severe disappointment with the war: “We got the worst of all worlds here. The regime has completely lost its fear, the nuclear project has not been destroyed, and Iran has gained a foothold in the Strait of Hormuz and will thus fund terrorism.”
Will Israel accept a potential agreement between Washington and Tehran? In the event of a nuclear breakthrough, the Cabinet Office stressed that Israel has an “inalienable right to self-defense.” For now, however, Israel does not have much room for maneuver. Netanyahu will find it difficult to disobey Trump while running in the elections and will have to keep a low profile.
To complete the picture, Maariv reported tonight that Gen. Dan Kaine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has privately told senior Trump administration officials in recent weeks that Washington must find a way out of the war with Iran. According to three sources familiar with the matter who spoke to CNN, Kaine believes that the military options under consideration for escalating the conflict could produce the opposite of the intended results, and that airstrikes alone are unlikely to achieve the goals Trump has set.”
Netanyahu may lose the upcoming elections because his policies have largely failed. However, most Israelis supported them as long as they appeared successful. Some former Likud voters are now shifting toward Ben-Gvir. In any case the new Zionist government is not going to be better on fundamental questions.
