Trump Returns to Threats of War on Iran

In light of the gap between Iran’s positions and those of US imperialism led by Trump, the US counter-blockade is intended to deprive the regime of Trump, who threatens to close the Strait of Hormuz in order to prevent ships from Iran and countries that have oil trade agreements with Iran from reaching their destination. Netanyahu is undoubtedly very pleased with Trump’s declaration as he wants war and another war in order not to be sent to prison for his corruption.

On Sunday, Trump announced the imposition of a counter-naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, in the war in the Gulf. This is in order to put pressure on Iran to give in to Trump’s demands, which include opening the Strait of Hormuz, handing over 430 kilograms of rich pines, continuing the war in Lebanon, and stopping the production of missiles.

There is no doubt that Iran will not agree to these conditions, and if Trump follows through on his threats, the war will resume.

This war is opposed by the masses in the United States, the Democratic Party, and even part of the Republican Party, whom Trump denounces.

It is difficult to predict whether Trump will follow through on his threats. Trump speaks non-stop and contradicts himself many times a day. Last week, he threatened to wipe out Iranian civilization, that is, he threatened the greatest genocide in history, but then he chose to try the negotiations again.

Trump is aware that the war is isolating the United States and Israel and the global economy in a worsening crisis. He may believe, however, that he may win the war by the counterblockade.

What are the terms of the United States?

1) The opening of the Strait of Hormuz on the grounds that these are international waters.

In reality, beyond Trump’s lies, parts of the Strait of Hormuz are inside Iran’s territorial waters, while other parts are in Oman’s territorial waters.

Due to the narrow width of the strait (about 33 to 39 km at its narrowest point), it has no open “international waters”, and any vessel that crosses it necessarily passes through the territorial waters of one of these two countries.

The strait connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman and separates Iran in the north from the Musandam Peninsula (an Omani enclave) in the south.

According to international law (the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea – UNCLOS), a foreign vessel has the right to “innocent passage” or “transit passage” within territorial waters, as long as they do not harm the security of the coastal state.

Since Iran closed the Strait in order to stop the destruction and killing by the United States and Israel, opening the Strait without the United States committing to a peace agreement, opening it as Trump’s demand would expose Iran to the continuation of barbaric imperialist bombings, which are undoubtedly a blow to Iran’s security.

Trump even claimed that if Iran had the right to annex the Egyptian Strait of Hormuz as its territorial waters, it would push Egypt to treat the Suez Canal as its territorial waters and not an international maritime passage.

2. Enriched uranium

It can be assumed that before the attack by the two imperialist countries, Iran did not want to develop nuclear weapons, now after the attacks on Iran, the Iranian regime, which knows that if Iran had nuclear weapons, it would not have been attacked, and that the United States and Israel have nuclear weapons, and that the United States was the only country to have used these weapons so far, and in addition, provided Iraq with chemical weapons for mass destruction in the Iraq-Iran war, Iran would want to ensure its security and would like to develop nuclear weapons.

3. The Missiles

Israel’s position, which Trump accepts, is that if Iran has ballistic missiles, it will have immunity from attack, which is inconceivable. The Iranian regime understands this very well and cannot give up on the production of the various missiles.

4. Continued attacks by the Zionist monster on Lebanon

In the first ceasefire agreement, Lebanon was included at Iran’s request. Israel ignored the agreement and continued with massive bombings in Lebanon, killing hundreds of civilians.

While Pakistan, which was the mediator, testified that the agreement included Lebanon. Trump came out to defend Israel’s attacks with the lie that Lebanon was not included in the agreement. It is already known today, based on reports from early April 2026, that President Donald Trump reversed his position on including Lebanon in a two-week ceasefire agreement with Iran after a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu does not hide his desire to renew the war. In three days, Netanyahu released two videos, in which he raises a narrative according to which the war was a great success for Israel under his leadership. The true extent of his failure is evidenced by the fact that Netanyahu refuses to answer journalists’ questions.

Iran supports a ceasefire and ending the war, which is, in fact a victory for Iran in the war against imperialism. Support for the war against Iran is not political support for the Iranian regime, but rather for the Iranian people’s progressive war against imperialism.

In Israel, too, there is opposition to this war, both by Hadash and by the Zionist liberals, both of which adopt pacifist positions that, despite the subjective intention against the war, it amounts to support for the stronger side militarily – the imperialist United States and Israel.
