Instead of serious journalism, Israeli news channels bomb their viewers with a mixture of nationalist kitsch, infantile racial patriotism and fake news engineered in Netanyahu’s office.
Nicolás Maduro is a despicable tyrant; however, Venezuela is a semi colony and the U.S is a decaying imperialist state. When one imperialist state decides to kidnap the leader of a semi colony and wants to steal its oil, any decent person will oppose that act of piracy.
The Zionist studios yesterday didn’t deal with violation of international law or the question of what is expected to happen in Venezuela itself. Instead, we got a Lebanese astrologer who predicted that Venezuela was on the verge of war, Oded Menashe singing “Venezuela is like no other, Ola,” and of course (how can they do without) pictures of Maduro wearing a keffiyeh.
If in the near past the United States made an effort to hide its efforts to install puppet rulers in Latin America in order to plunder its resources, today the Bonapartist regime does not need to do so. In his address to the nation, Donald Trump boasted of his intention to “run” Venezuela for now, focusing on oil. We are going to extract a huge amount of wealth from the land,” he promised. In an interview with Fox, he said he watched the kidnapping “just like I’m watching a TV show. If you could see the speed, the violence, it would be amazing.” In the mind of Trump, military operations are translated into reality shows. After Venezuela he wants to steal Greenland and may be Canada, or Iran.
But the Israeli media, like Israeli society as a whole, is not worried about unbridled power and robbery. The Israelis are fascinated by it. As in Gaza and Iran they believe that the only solution to any political problem is violence and more violence, and when the media is mobilized, even a relatively critical journalist on a relatively critical channel thinks that it is forbidden to ask questions or be critical of plundering.
