At least 10 Palestinians have been killed and more than 100 wounded in an Israeli army raid in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus. 82 were hit by live ammunition, according to the Palestinian health ministry. Six are in critical condition. According to the Palestinian Authority’s Health Ministry, aside for Aslim, Dahil, and Fatah, the Palestinians killed in the raid included Adnan Sabaa Ba’ara, age 72, Abd al-Hadi Abd al-Aziz Ashqar, age 61, Muhammad Khaled Anbousi, age 25, Tamer Nimer Ahmed Minawi, age 33, Musab Munir Muhammad Awais, age 26 and a leader of a local terrorist group called the Balata Brigade, Muhammad Farid Shaaban, age 16, and Jasser Jamil Abdel-Wahhab Qaneer, age 23. The Zionists butchers in uniforms stormed Nablus with dozens of armored vehicles and Special Forces at 10am on Wednesday.
The Zionist criminals blocked off all entrances to the city before surrounding a home of two wanted Palestinian fighters, Hossam Isleem and Mohammad Abdulghani, who were both killed.
An amateur video posted online showed two young men running down a street. Gunshots are heard and both fall to the ground with one’s hat flying off his head. Both bodies remained still. [2]
The Lions’ Den armed group said it engaged in clashes with Israeli forces during the raid, alongside the recently announced Balata Brigades. Young Palestinians pelted armored vehicles with rocks.
“Reporting from Nablus, Al Jazeera’s Nida Ibrahim said witnesses described Israeli soldiers opening fire indiscriminately. “We are hearing stories that Israeli forces were shooting at the neighbors, people in their houses, people going about their daily lives. Palestinians say Israel is acting this way because it is not being held accountable and has a freehand killing Palestinians” [3]
Nablus and Jenin have been the centers of the armed resistance that Israel has intensified its raids over the last year. According to Palestinian journalist Mariam Barghouti of the news site Mondoweiss: “Even though it is expanding to other areas of the West Bank, the Lion’s Den and the Jenin Brigade continue to be the epicenter of Palestinian armed resistance and new youth groups fighting, which is why they have become a target,” Barghouti told Al Jazeera. “In the Old City of Nablus, people stared at the rubble that had been a large home with nearby shops riddled with bullet holes. Parked cars were crushed. Blood stained the cement and furniture from the destroyed home was scattered among mounds of debris” [5]
“Palestinian political parties announced a general strike in the cities of Ramallah and Nablus on Wednesday in response, calling on Palestinians to come out in protest near Israeli army checkpoints” [6]
The number of Palestinians killed by the Zionists butchers since the beginning of 2023 has now risen to 61 people, including 13 children, in the occupied territories.
The Zionist military raid is seen by many Palestinians as yet another sign of the PA leadership’s deceptive policies and double talk. “The raid further undermines the PA’s credibility, making it appear as being part of an Israeli-American “conspiracy” targeting the Palestinian people.” [7]
“We condemn the occupation’s raid into Nablus and we call for an end to the continued attacks against our people,” said Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesperson for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Really? Why then did the PA armed forces not come to Nablus to defend the Palestinians? Abu Mazen is a traitor to the Palestinian a Quisling. The term is used to describe misleaders who collaborate with the enemy. Many Palestinians are convinced that the operation in Nablus came in the context of ongoing security coordination between the Palestinian security forces and Israel.
“A video of a Palestinian police vehicle fleeing the area as IDF soldiers entered Nablus is being cited by some Palestinians as proof that the PA is in cahoots with Israel.” [8]
Israel would not dare to commit those war crimes if the US, Russia, and EU were not supporting the apartheid state while condemning it only by empty words.
In March 2022, following a series of individual Palestinian attacks inside Israel, the Zionist army launched a military campaign that led to 2022 being marked by the United Nations as the deadliest year for Palestinians in the occupied West Bank since 2006 Some 171 Palestinians, including more than 30 children, were killed by the Israeli army in the West Bank last year.[9]
The far-right politician Ben Gevir, the minister of national security has praised the massacre calling the butchers heroes, while the Zionist elite, responsible for the robbery of 1948, demonstrated against Netanyahu governments with slogans in support of the Zionist Ethnocracy they also defend the Zionist armed butchers.
Down with the Zionists apartheid state!
